Ps 108:14; 3 Macc 2:19; En 10:20; PsSol 13:10). Only the more general sense is pertinent (as Diod S 3, 40, 7 ἐ. τὰς ἐλπίδας; TestJud 22:3) for 1 Cl 53:3. ἐξαλείψωμεν ἀφʼ ἡμῶν τὰ πρότερα ἁμαρτῆματα let us remove fr. ourselves our former sins 2 Cl 13:1 (ἐξ. ἀπό as Gen 7:23; PsSol 2, 17).
